Sitting in front of the boob tube is no way to stay fit–even if you're a cartoon character.
Intense physical exercise is something that you should pursue only if you enjoy doing that level of activity. People will see long distance cyclists, runners, swimmers, and a host of other athletes and fantasize about being at that level of top condition. The simple truth is that most of us are not physically designed for that extreme style of physicality and or not motivated to strive for that level of activity. In other words, you don’t have to swim the English Channel to give your body the physical attention that it needs.
The problem is that so many of us fail to recognize that there is a big difference between living the life of a couch potato and being an athlete. Humans were designed to move and when we don’t move our bodies we suffer greatly. Between a desk job, a long commute, evening couch time in front of the TV, and our sleep, there is often little need for us to move to any significant degree during the day. That is where the bounce and shake method outlined in The Mars & Venus Diet & Exercise Solution can be so valuable in conditioning and toning your body on a daily basis. Here are six simple steps, that when done with some easy yoga or tai chi, or other stretching routine, can give your body the physical activity that it has been needing.
1. Stand with your knees slightly bent and you feet comfortably apart. Bounce up and down, but don’t let the heels of your feet leave the ground.
2. As you bounce let your hands hang at your side in a relaxed manner. Shake your hands as they hang while you bounce up and down.
3. Let your head bounce with the rest of your body. Nod your head up and down, but in a comfortable manner not stretching your neck more than a few inches.
4. Breathe in through your nose as you bounce. Inhale and count to five seconds while holding your breath in and then exhale for five seconds. Continue to bounce and keep your head and neck moving.
5. Exhale out through your mouth. When you do, pucker like you’re trying to blow out a candle. While doing this, as you continue to bounce, make a low sound coming out of the base of your throat and continue doing so for approximately three minutes.
6. After a total of five minutes stop bouncing and shaking. Stand in place quietly for one last minute and feel the vibration going through your entire body. This process gets every part of your body moving and most importantly awakens your lymphatic system thereby reducing the workload on your liver to cleanse your body of toxins.
Tomorrow, in part two of this story, we’ll discuss a ten to twenty minute low intensity exercise program that will help you to breathe and flex your spine thereby enhancing your body’s release of its own natural healing fluids.
