Desire, Passion and Persistence Equals Success
April 20, 2009
The secret of all outer success is desire. You must know what you want, feel it deeply, and believe passionately in whatever goal you have set. When you continue to feel and act on what you want, the universe responds to your will because passion, belief, and desire are all very powerful forces for change.
By taking action to get what you want, you strengthen your belief. The world will not believe in you until you believe in yourself. Success is not a passive pursuit. It requires a clear intention to be achieved. As your intention is made clear both to yourself and others the passion and desire you bring to your goal is essential in bringing success into your life.
At the same time it is always important to remember that nearly every great success story is filled with examples of rejection, failure, frustration, worry, and disappointment that occurred along the way. Why are there always setbacks on the path to success? Well, for one simple reason, regardless of your dreams, if success was easily achieved, in any given field, if it always occurred with great ease, how could we admire the persistence and perseverance of any individual who had achieved success? But be assured, those who think big and have great desire will eventually draw success into their lives and overcome their obstacles.
The last great secret of success is persistence, and your greatest source of persistence is the passion you hold inside for obtaining your goal. By staying in touch with your deepest desires, you can find that passion and reach for what you are seeking. Your passion and your belief can give you the power to create the life you want. First in your mind and heart and then through the actions you take. As you practice this process you will find that you have increasing success in creating the life you want.
Beware that not every goal you set is achievable at any one particular point in time. And this is why persistence is so important in pursuit of your passion. Success may not be achieved on the timetable that you have set. For many successful people this has been their experience as well. But unlike so many others, who never achieved their goals, they persisted and continued faithfully to reignite their passion with a steady sense of self-confidence and a deep inner faith that in time they would achieve their desires.
When we have a desire that is not fulfilled, quite commonly we give it up in some fashion. We stop caring as much, stop trusting and stop wanting. What we really are giving up on is hope. But hope is critical to staying in touch with our ability to feel all of our true desires. Passion, persistence and desire are the essential ingredients of power. We need all three. And to cultivate these attitudes you must constantly stay in touch with how you feel and what you want.
Ultimately we choose whether to persist beyond or surrender to the inevitable setbacks we encounter on our personal journey to success. Your passion, persistence and desire will determine which of these two roads you choose.

Persistence is important. It’s just not what most people in need really want to hear about, right? Great post and it’s refreshing to see someone so forthright about the effort necessary to achieve goals, etc.
